More about the keynote:

We all certainly understand that our world is experiencing multiple global crises at once: the tragic pandemic; growing inequality; political divisiveness; ongoing struggles with racism and marginalization; massive disruptions in the workplace.

Blustein proposes that we need to engage in systematic reflection and critical thinking about how we want to structure work as an institution.

Beginning with a call for revitalizing unions and other workers’ organizations, he provides a vision of work for the post-pandemic work:

  • ·      confronting implicit bias and racism in the workplace
  • ·      creating jobs that matter to people and society
  • ·      how humane protections can be established
  • ·      fairly distributing resources and opportunities

The presentation will address recommendations for career professionals to engage in critically conscious practice and advocacy to ensure that work is decent, dignified, and meaningful for all.
